Measured around the head just above the ears and the eyebrows. Size may be listed as a head circumference (in inches or cm) or as a number like 6¼ (head circumference in inches divided by pi (≈3.14) and round up to the nearest 1/8).
Measured across the widest point of the hat when laid flat, typically just above the brim or at the base of the crown.
Measured from edge to edge across the underside of the bill.
Measured from the base of the hat to the highest point of the crown along the outside.
Most toques and beanies are one size fits most, made with stretchable materials to comfortably fit a range of head sizes.
Measured straight across from one side to the other at the widest point.
Measured from the bottom edge (brim) to the very top of the crown.
NOTE: Because toques and beanies are made of stretchable materials, measurements may vary slightly depending on fabric and fit style (e.g., slouchy vs. snug).
