OAKVILLE, ON – For this upcoming school year, Entripy is excited to announce it will be donating 100 backpacks filled with school supplies and a lunch bag to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton. The backpacks will then be distributed by BBBS of Halton to children in their program who are in need of these items for back-to-school.
The supplies in the school bags include notebooks, pencils, coloured pencils, pencil sharpeners, rulers, erasers and sticky notes. "I remember as a kid how excited I was to have brand new school supplies on my first day of school. We wanted to give children in our community a chance to open the doors to their school on the first day with a great big smile and a backpack filled with everything they are going to need," says Jas Brar, President & CEO of Entripy Custom Clothing. "Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton were the perfect recipients of our donation and it was so rewarding to see how excited and grateful they were."
According to Community Development Halton's Social Profile of Halton Region 2009 Report, the number of low income families in Halton has increased over 40% since 2000. A surprise to some but poverty does exist in the cities in the Halton Region (Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills). Those families living in poverty in Halton struggle at the beginning of each school year. They struggle to provide their children with the supplies they will need to excel in school. Entripy is pleased and eager to assist some of the parents by donating these essential supplies to their children.
